What is High Point?
Season High Point is a season long accumulation
of points that leads to the year-end banquet where
riders receive awards for their placings in the 5
shows.
At each show, Champion and Reserve Champion
are awarded for each division regardless of
enrollment in Season High Point.

Season High Point Rules
1. Banquet Awards (to 3rd place) and ribbons for all places will be presented for individual classes within the Walk-Trot 8/under & 9/over, Flat, Cross Rails, Short Stirrup, Long Stirrup, Rusty Stirrup, Pony, Modified, Children's/Adult Amateur, Open, Low Jumper and High Jumper divisions. Separate awards will be given if division is split due to large class size. Riders who comply with the requirements in the rules below and participate in at least 2 shows of the season, but do not win any 1st, 2nd, 3rd place season-end awards, will receive a particpation award at banquet.
2. Riders and horses must compete for Season High Point only in divisions for which they meet the requirements (see Class Specifications in the Premiums).
3. Riders must do all of the following to sign up for Season High Point: (a) Join as an annual member of ETI, (b) Indicate high point division(s) on entry form, and (c) pay high point fee for each division in which you want to compete for Season High Point. Competitors who feel that payment of hightpoint fee constitutes undue hardship may petition to the ETI Corral 8 Board in writing.
4. You may sign up for Season High Point at any show of the season; however, points count only for that show in which you sign up and the remaining shows of the season. Points are not retroactive. Points earned before you join ETI, sign up for Season High Point and pay the fee do not count.
5. Points earned by a rider on any horse will count for equitation classes. Only points earned by a given horse will count toward classes judged on the horse.
6. If fewer than five horse-rider combinations sign up for a given division by the end of the second show, the Corral 8 Board reserves the right to combine or cancel that division. Riders in said division will be given a choice of refund or a transfer into another division (points will not be transferred). If age groups are combined or a class is divided in the show premiums starting with the second show (see General Rule 9), the Season High Point divisions will be consistent provided that at least five horse-rider combinations sign up for a given division.
7. You must use the same name for a given horse throughout the show season unless the ETI Corral 8 Board is notified in writing. This name must be the same as the name on the Season High Point Registration Form.
8. High Point Awards will be based on points earned, with the following point values for each ribbon: first- 9, second- 7, third-6, fourth -5, fifth- 4, sixth -3, seventh -2, eigth -1
9. Special Awards. The Best Child Rider award is given to the junior rider (17 & under) who earns the most points on one horse in any one division. The Mary Horn Memorial Trophy is given to the senior amateur rider (18 & over) who earns the most points on one horse in any one division. The Mr. Lucky Trophy is given to the junior rider (12 & under), who earns the most points in the Green Rider division. The Sportsmanship Award winner is selected by the ETI Corral 8 Board from among those nominated by ETI Corral 8 members at the last show.
